Recent reviews:

Ordered the lock and installed about a month ago, so I have had some weeks to test it out. I had a simple $40 digital deadbolt before, bought from an auction web site. Was a simple motorized rubber button keypad lock. It was cheap, working and served its function for a several years. It started having clutch issues when locking and unlocking about the same time my front door started exhibiting some serious dry rot issues. The finish on both the lock and handle was worn and peeling so I figured I could give the new door all new hardware. So the quest began for a new lock. I figured there could be lots of locks out there, however I found only a few that came close to the design and features I wanted. I narrowed it down to the Sunnect AP501 which ended up being discontinued/unavailable, the Samsung SHS3420 and the Yale YRD220. The three had alike price points but different features. The Sunnect and Samsung rely on RFID cards and don t have key access. While this could theoretically prevent bumping or picking of the locks, a premature battery or electrical failure could most likely prove to be a hard and costly procedure, since I presume a locksmith could most likely have to destroy them for you to get access. So for those reasons, the positive reviews, and the classy design of the YRD220, I ended up selecting the Yale. Ordering and arrival was uneventful. When you unpack it, you now notice how heavy and hard it feels. This thing is built like a tank, and seems to confirm its Class 2 security designation. Installation went without big issues, the information aren’t the best but I figured it out and got it installed comparatively painlessly.

This works as it should. It may be opened closed remotely (with the deadbolt really moving, unlike the Schlage one.. ), and has a really great user interface for programming if using stand-alone. It can hold lots of personal codes, and lets for 8 digit codes which I like. I have it linked to a Vera2, and it works great. If you’re connecting it to z-wave, program it from z-wave, not from the device. I overrode some passcodes programing the device 1st, then adding more codes via z-wave. Downsides – After pressing a number (when unlocking) the number blanks for a while (1/2 a second) to tell you that it’s pressed. While the feedback is good, it does make it easy for other people to see what you’re typing if they’re looking over your shoulder (if the lock is in that sort of environment as it’s with mine). Feedback is slow to show when locking – I use the sound of the deadbolt to know it’s doing it. This may not work for others in a noisier environment.

May be opened with a paperclip And I bought two of them and its late to return Https://www. Youtube. Com/watch? V=B0jLCrWBA-M$.
