A domain name is a combination of letters or numbers which represent the address of your site. Our domain name is "review-hosting.com." You need to register a domain name before your web site becomes accessible at this address. Registering a domain name is easy.

Hits - is number of 'elements' loaded on your site. If one page has 10 images in it, viewing that page gives 10 hits (one page + 10 images).
Impressions - the number of times all the pages on your site are seen. Impressions are sometimes called 'hits' which causes confusion
Uniques - the number of unique visitors that looked at your site

Can I get a DSL or a cable line and host on my own computer?

Yes, but it's not a good idea for many reasons. Majority of ISPs won't allow you to legally use a residential package cable modem or a DSL line for hosting. You may have to get a more expensive business package. DSL and cable lines have lower upload bandwidth than download bandwidth, so your site will be slow under heavy traffic. Also, DSL and cable lines have a much lower reliability than dedicated T1 or better lines. You may not have the benefit of data backup and security, computing power, or technical support that a paid host can provide.
