Recent reviews:

I ordered this computer on January 19th and so far I enjoy working with it. Anybody who is considering purchasing it should plan on adding at least a 4 gig card because performance does improve a pretty bit. I installed a Crucial 4GB Single DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL11 SODIMM 204-Pin 1. 35V/1. 5V Notebook Memory Module CT51264BF160B and it went smoothly with no issues. Also, replaced the original drive with a Seagate 2. 5 1 TB hybrid SSHD which I already had. Used cloning software downloaded from the Seagate site to copy the original drive that came with the unit. This change improved in general performance. Be prepared to be married to the machine while updating the computer. Some updates seem to take forever. I waited till I had all updates installed before cloning the drive so I had a backup for the software if something went wrong with my newly installed SSHD. If you use a SSHD, remember it’ll take some days of use before the rate of operation shows a real increase because the drive has to experience your use patterns to store the most used programs. Boot time was much faster in the last few days. I ran the Octane test in the google browser and scored 15,500+ in comparison to 12,400+ with my 5 yr old HP AMD quadcore. I do not play many games any more so I can not speak to the computer’s performance about gaming. It has such a small footprint in comparison to my old desktop that I barely notice it in the room. Also, does not produce as much heat as the older machine did which will assist when the AC season comes around. While you may be able to hear it when beside the machine, in comparison to the old computer it’s almost silent. Most likely leaving something out but I can recommend it depending on my own use. I have the Asus VM40B in the basement (added 4gig card and 256 SSD) and quite pleased with it also.

Excellent little unit. We bought it to run a new 55" 4k VIZIO monitor in a conference room. Works like a charm. If you want to use it with a monitor it comes with a VESA mount to attach behind the monitor which is cool. Wireless mouse and keyboard are hard. We tested some 4k content with it. We went to YouTube via Chrome browser and the 4k content was choppy. We although the ASUS could not handle it at 1st. But, we then tried the 4k content with IE and it streamed flawlessly. BTW, 4k looks perfect with a super cheap HDMI cable that came with our wall bracket (Cheetah-brand). Four (4) USB 3. 0 ports are a nice touch. One of the descriptions said it has a VGA and HDMI. This is incorrect. It has a DisplayPort and HDMI. But, you may be able to get an adapter to output the DisplayPort to anything you want. It’ll drive two monitors simultaneously (one at 4k and the other at 1080p). It may do two 4k monitors but I can not verify that.

This little Asus is a nice, calm pc. The G039R model is the Intel Core i3 model. I upgraded my 500 GB HDD now to a 500 GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD. I also pgraded the memory to 16 GB now and now my pc is awesome. The upgrades weren’t neccessary as when I got the pc, I was satified with it is performance out of the box. I just like to make all my upgrades now. Each upgrade was easy to install. The 4 usb 3. 0 slots in the back of this pc are nice to have. Once you get over the fact Windows 8. 1 may be annoying, it is an in general great deal for the price. This pc uses little desk space and the color is nice. It also comes with a full size keyboard and mouse. Personally I am happy with my buy and if I ever need another pc after I get tired of this one, I will still look for the VivoPC line.
